Busy Bee

Hooray! Although this blog had not inspired me to write any more often, it has given me an excuse to have a lot of fun with some crafts I've been meaning to try. The most fun? This mini-waldorf style doll I created almost completely from scraps I had lying around. I plan on moving on to a full size doll (about twice as big) which will hopefully be a whole lot easier. This mini doll turned out to be such a challenge to stuff and shape, I can't wait to try a big one!

I also made a lovely strip quilt for my SIL's new baby boy (still waiting!). It's cotton and flannel, and I whipped it up in about a week of after-the-kids-are-asleep sewing. Sorry, dont' have a completed pic on my phone to upload...have to try to remember to do that (yah right). Maybe I'll get a cute shot of baby Hunter all wrapped up in it :)

Brain Download

Ok, so just for starters, you should know that I am a very sporatic crafter. I love creating things, but since I constantly overcommit myself time-wise, I rarely get to what I really want to do. The purpose here is to share, and document things I have made or want to make.

As an example, I was looking for pictures of past projects as examples to post here, and I found very few :(  I guess my usual MO is to have a rush of creativity in anticipation of an event (party, baby, outting) and I forget to take a picture of whatever lovely thing has emmerged. Here is what I managed to find:

Banner For D's Soccer team
Tutu for E's Halloween Bee outfit
Giant hair flowers
Diaper Cake for friend S's Baby shower
But there's so much more I wanted to share! I've made bunches of baby carriers and slings. I've made fancy halloween costumes, oodles of tie dye clothing, and even a quilt here or there. I hope to whip my behind in shape so I have a better history, through this blog, of the things I've done. Wish me luck (I'll need it!)
